Turning it off and on, you hear a very distinct difference. I was absolutely blown away by what Boom has been able to do. When I slapped them on, it was like falling into the recording studio. I use SkullCandy SkullCrushers for my musical needs. Of course I had to throw some Pink Floyd on and it legitimately sounded like I was sitting in a room with an incredible surround sound system, instead of just two desk speakers and a sub. I listen to a lot of electronic ambience type of music when I'm working on my computer, and that really did wonders for it. I'm a huge fan of using "Fidelity" in my day to day use of my computer, but when I jumped to 3D surround, even with speakers, goodness gracious, was I surprised. "3D Surround" joins the line-up, with a bar to control the amount of the sound editing you want to hear. I know, I know, you're not supposed to use speakers with Boom, but you know what, bite me.Īlong with the original settings of "Ambience," "Fidelity," "Night Mode," and "Spatial," there's a new button in town. Boom made my speakers really come to life. I don't generally use headphones with my iMac, as I have it set up with a really nice sound system. They do a fantastic job of really pulling out tones in music that you've never heard. I got an email asking if I'd take part in the Beta for Boom3D, and decided eh what the heck. I've been a big fan of Boom and used their products for quite a long time. I'm not really a big reviewer of anything, but I feel like I should give credit where credit is due.
